Tasting Notes for Recent Bottlings

Rare Auld Glen Moray 1983 27yo 55.3% Cask 3204

Colour: Bright Gold

Nose: Juicy fruits, kiwi and mangos, lots of vanilla, soft meringues, warm grass, greenhouses and faint whiff of chocolate.

Taste: Hugely fruit with a touch of almonds lemon bon-bons.  Digestive biscuits and toffee.  Soft kick of white pepper.

Finish: Dry, citrus fruits, caramel and lots of vanilla

Comment: Top drawer fruity whisky!!!


Rare Auld Bunnahabhain 1979 32yo 46.9% Cask 1774

Colour: Gold

Nose: Sweet, chocolate bourbon biscuits, a touch medicinal, and kaffir lime leaves.  Warm gingerbread with melted butter, with time pineapple chunks and traditional lemonade.

Taste: Rich meaty notes, raisins, figs and prunes.  Initially heavier than the nose would suggest.  Brown sugar and then lemon sponge cake.

Finish: Developing citrus notes, with white chocolate and ginseng tea.

Comment: A richly fruity Bunna!
