Duncan Taylor & Co Ltd are delighted to announce our recent success in Jim Murray’s 2011 Whisky Bible Awards, where our 1986 Highland Park has received the ‘Best Single Malt Scotch, 22-27 Years (Single Cask)’ award.

With over 1000 new additions to the bible this year it is a great honour to win this award with Jim quoting that our Rare Auld bottling of Highland Park 1986 Cask no. 2318 “stood head and shoulders above others in its category for its voluptuous and intoxicating profile; a real gem and well beyond what one might expect from what is already a great distillery” ©

This is high praise indeed and with a score of 96 points it can truly be described as one of the very best whiskies in the world, standing as a testament to the quality of bottlings produced by Duncan Taylor year after year.

Jim Murray’s Tasting notes:

Duncan Taylor Collection Highland Park 1986 Cask no. 2318 (96)

Nose: Exemplary: intense, cut-it-with-a-knife barley and smoke combination with the usual honeyed sweetness tempered by a warming floral note and bitter marmalade;

Taste: My word!! What a body….just feel those curves!!! Look at the way the tongue finds all the honey!  A Touch of salt makes it a little sultry and sweaty, too….

Finish: A long, lingering, sweet, pulsing finish.  As you might expect…

Balance: Just about all you could ask for from an HP, and even a little more besides. 54.2%©
