Snow Days at the End of March! – Carsebridge 1979

The snow is continuing to fall here in Dufftown – Huntly has been cut off from the outside world so I thought I would make the best of not being able to drive to work and write some tasting notes!

Carsebridge 1979 Cask 33043 – 48.8%

Colour:  Golden

Nose: Rich, warm toffee, vanilla builds up and also a touch of spice.

Taste:  Oily, very chewy.  Digestive biscuits with melted butter.  Marzipan and  green olives.

Finishe:  Initial toffee notes fade, then grassier notes emerge.  Ends with lingering plums.

Comment:  The plums in the finish just hold everything together nicely.  A great grain whisky.
