New Cask of Glenesk 1983

Just approved a new bottling of a Sherry Glenesk 1983 – Cask 1288 – will be bottled next week.

Nose: Warm rich toffee – obvious sherry, choc ices, strawberry plants and a mellow creaminess in the background also some orange waxy notes.

Taste: Mouth coating, rich orange notes and then some dried fruits – mainly raisins.  A touch of Turkish delight and dark chocolate with a hint of chilli.

Finish: The spice lingers in the finish, along with some dried oranges, raisins and sultanas.  Some grassy notes develop in the finish

Comment: A great balance between the sherry cask and the whisky character, a very festive dram.

I this…I like this a lot!
